Charts Recap: April 29th - May 5th, 2019

We had a great slate of new-releases this last Friday, so naturally our top-seller charts got shook up. Tacocat are our undisputed sales champions this round, pulling into the number one spot in both the analog and digital charts. We’re fans, we got to talk records with them last week in our blog, and had he privilege of hosting a performance last Thursday. In case you missed it, here’s a great photo from Danny Ngan (@dannyngan on twitter).

Of course there is also a new Vampire Weekend album, and it was hot too, our number two in both charts. Father Of The Bride has been getting nearly universally positive reviews, and is a little bit of a new beginning for the group. It’s been six years since their last one. I wouldn’t be surprised if both this week’s top two records hang in our charts for a while to come.

Elsewhere Big Thief also debuts strong, Sunn O))) keeps hanging around, Bad Religion and GBV compete for most records ever. And It’s also very cool to see Aldous Harding in both charts. The idiosyncratic New Zealander is worth the time to get to know, her sound is unique, elements of folk and indie mingle with some experimental tendencies. Give a listen:
