Charts Recap: September 3rd - September 9th, 2018

September is in full swing and we’ve got a new week’s worth of best-sellers to share with you.

There’s a perfectly autumnal debut at the number one spot on our vinyl top-ten with Spiritualized’s new record And Nothing Hurt. It’s a lovely and melancholic record from an artist aging gracefully. It’s a necessary sounding record, I love this quote from Jason Pierce from a great piece in The Atlantic: “I thought, if I’m going to make a record at my age, there has to be a reason that it should be there, that it should exist.” Check it out.

Elsewhere the new collaboration from Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and The National’s Aaron Dessner, Big Red Machine, is holding strong at #2. Also holding strong is the new synth-pop full-length from local legend Jenn Champion (S, Carissa’s Wierd) at the #4 spot. It’s the longest running record in our charts right now! Get to know Jenn here on our blog!

Speaking of holding STRONG on our charts, Neko is back at number one on the CD charts! This is a stellar record, surely it’s staying power in our top-sellers has a lot to do with some great word-of-mouth.

Though the top three CDs are unchanged, everything underneath is new to the top-ten! Very happy to see the deluxe reissue of The Posies Frosting On The Beater and Spirit Award’s Neverending from last year jump into the charts. Some of Seattle’s finest!
