Charts Recap for April 25th - May 1st, 2022

We’ve got a fresh top-ten best-seller chart up for the week! As our RSD exclusives start to drop out of the charts we’ve seen a bit of a shake-up including a new number-one! FONTAINES DC have managed to steal the top spot with their new record Skinty Fia. This is the third proper full-length from the Irish rockers and their garage and post-punk influences continue to morph in delightful ways. Perhaps their most accomplished LP yet.

We also have a new old face showing up in our charts for the first time in a while. NORAH JONES is back with the twentieth anniversary reissue of her breakout debut record Come Away With Me at eight in our charts. The record was an era definer with its combo of soft jazz and contemporary pop and has proved to have an enduring power.

Our other new release to achieve a chart placement this week is at number ten with Mahal by TORO Y MOI. This is the veteran indie artist’s seventh record and finds him pushing his psych rock influences a little more into the spotlight along with his trademark smooth electro-infused indie pop. Give a listen!
