Charts Recap for August 30th - September 5th, 2021

After a long weekend we’ve got a fresh weekly best-seller top-ten posted! That includes a brand new number one! Scooting up one spot from last week is HALSEY with her newest LP If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. The pop singer has gone slightly darker and more conceptual on her latest release, and it has the critics enthralled calling it Halsey’s “strongest work to date“. Let’s see how much power this record has to hold onto number one.

In the number two spot we have the specially released benefit EP from much loved NW natives DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE. The Georgia EP catches the indie-rockers covering some favorite tunes from various artists hailing from the state of Georgia. The release was conceived as a fundraiser for the Fair Fight Action organization working on voting rights!

We often catch old catalog reissues climbing into our top-ten on their enduring popularity (check numbers five, six, and nine) but it appears we might have a new entrant to that club with ABBA showing up in our charts for the very first time with their hits collection Gold at number four. The record might have gotten its boost this week from the ABBA news, the group is working on its first new music in decades! Can’t wait.
