Charts Recap for June 21st -27th, 2021

We’ve been moving slow in the heatwave, so it took us an extra day to post our weekly best-seller charts, but we’ve still got some heat in this week’s top-ten! We have a new record debuting at number-one! Home Video by LUCY DACUS is this week’s top-seller. We last heard Lucy in her supergroup Boygenius (with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker) and the new record has been hotly anticipated. The new one shows the introspective songwriter examining adolescence, the songs are top notch.

Our best-selling reissue of the week goes to JONI MITCHELL who had her undisputed masterpiece Blue remastered and repressed for its 50th (!) anniversary. The record originally was released back in 1971, and remains unsurpassed in poetic and complex Californian folk-rock. This is part of a reissue series that will see all here Reprise Records early career records reissued.

Store favorite FAYE WEBSTER also has a new record I Know I'm Funny Ha Ha out and its way up at number three in this weeks charts. We’re glad word is getting around about Faye with her latest record earning a Best New Music nod from Pitchfork. For the uninitiated, Faye makes music that stretches out the country western sound, with lyrics and delivery that mange to perfectly balance sadness and wit. Highly recommended.
