Charts Recap for June 14th - 20th, 2021

We’ve had a week to recover from the first Record Store Day drop of 2021, and our top-ten best-sellers list has mostly normalized. We have an old favorite back at number one this week thanks to a 20th anniversary reissue. Oh Inverted World by THE SHINS, one of our ALL-TIME best-sellers, is this week’s best-seller. This reissue is a beautiful sounding remaster and is housed in quite the deluxe sleeve. Maybe it’ll change your life again?

Our hot new-release for the week comes from NICK CAVE & WARREN ELLIS. Carnage, the quarantine collaboration from the long time Bad Seeds, is our number three record. You might hear the influence of the two’s previous film soundtrack work across this one as its a slightly different direction for Mr. Cave. Count this as a continuation of Nick Cave’s late career streak of presenting an ideal of a musician aging gracefully.

We’ve got new locals in our top-ten too! The weeks number seven record belongs to Seattle horn-driven funk ensemble THE TRUE LOVES. Their latest record is Sunday Afternoon and is just about the perfect Seattle summer record. You can find a little more on the record over on our STAFF PICKS page, but we say this one is perfect for a block party.
