Charts Recap for June 7th - 13th, 2021

We’ve got our post-RSD weekly top-ten up! Unsurprisingly, our charts are mostly dominated Record Store Day Exclusives (many of which are sold-out). Many, many records were sold. The year’s first RSD drop was powerful enough to bounce Taylor Swift from the number one spot! Our RSD exclusive number-one instead goes to PRINCE for the first vinyl release of the 1998 acoustic album The Truth. The late career ‘bonus record’ was a hidden gem in an expansive catalog. Congrats to those that nabbed one. SOLD OUT!

Only the previously mentioned Taylor Swift and JAPANESE BREAKFAST managed to land non-RSD records in our top-ten. Japanese Breakfast’s latest record, Jubilee, managed to sneak in at number five this week. This records sounds like an artist leveling up, and we expect this to be in the record of the year conversation for 2021. For those craving a little extra Japanese Breakfast we’ll link to a recent NPR live appearance.

Also, we must point out not all our Record Store Day exclusives are sold-out! As of Monday we have a handful of the MUDHONEY / MEAT PUPPETS split 7” at number ten and the DONNY HATHAWAY Live LP at number nine! Check out our RSD leftovers bin ASAP as these goodies never last long. If you’re looking for something specific CALL! But serendipity is the thing to embrace when it comes to catching RSD leftovers.
