Charts Recap for May 24th - 30th, 2021

A new weekly top-ten best-seller chart is up, and we’ve got a new runaway best-seller this week too! TAYLOR SWIFT is back out on top of the charts thanks to vinyl copies of Evermore finally arriving along with a fresh batch of signed CDs! 2020’s Evermore was the product of the continued creative processes behind Folklore and shares the record’s folksy intimacy. Naturally this one had a lot of pent up demand!

We’ve also got some locals making noise near the top of our charts. WARREN DUNES landed at number three this week after an in-store appearance to sign copies of Get Well Soon. The band is the latest vehicle for Seattle music vet Julia Massey and fam, and the latest record mixes an indie sound with some more global and far-flung influences. The title seems a nod to us all collectively getting over something too.

Our highest charting new release this week doesn’t show up until number ten, but we like the band so lets give it a quick review. BLACK MIDI is back with a new full-length called Cavalcade. The young UK band deals in a twisted 21st century take on something like math-rock. Cavalcade is most welcomely more weird, wild, and unique rock music. Give a listen.
