Charts Recap: March 8th -14th, 2021

New best-sellers are up! Last week’s number one and two records have swapped spots and we have an old familiar record cover in the number-one spot. DEEP SEA DIVER’s Impossible Weight has found it’s way back to the top of the heap after the release of a limited teal-colored vinyl variant. The record was 2020’s best selling Seattle record at Sonic Boom, and one of our region’s finest recent cultural exports. Congrats DSD!

CHILDISH GAMBINO is back in the charts again too! 2016’s Awaken My Love has been repressed and is back on shelves after too long an absence. This record was in heavy rotation at our shop back when the release was fresh, so we understand the long running appeal. On this one the rapper channeled the far out funk of the seventies in a very fresh way. A welcome return at number three.

Also, the official welcome surprise in the week’s charts is at number six. Ignorance is the new record from recent store favorite WEATHER STATION. For the uninitiated, Weather Station is the pastoral folk-rock project of Tamara Lindeman. The new record is a nicely fleshed out version of the vision with stunning songwriting. The record managed a rare Best New Music nod from Pitchfork.
