JULIEN BAKER has a new record too, but due to the great storm of ‘21 arrived a little late at our shop this week. Despite the late arrival, Little Oblivions almost was able to get to number one this week. The singer songwriter is known for her sensitivity in song-craft, and the new record delivers in this regard while leveling up on sounds. Its receiving rave reviews across the board. If you want to get a little more familiar try this recent and illuminating NPR interview.

Also, we’ve got MOGWAI back in the mix for the first time in years. Their latest record, As The Loves Continues, has landed at number four after a few weeks on the shelves. The band is a couple decades into a career where they’ve mastered their craft of building up mammoth evocative walls of sound. If anything, the new one finds them roughing up the mix a bit from their last couple.
