Charts Recap for October 4th - 10th, 2021

We’ve just posted our top-ten best-selling record chart for the first full week of October! The week sees a new top-seller with In These Silent Days by BRANDI CARLILE moving up form number two last week. This is the singer-songwriter and Washington native’s seventh record, and not at all her first number-one record at Sonic Boom! The new record is getting rave reviews and finds Brandi deepening her appeal to a still wider audience.

Speaking of artists that aren’t strangers to our top-ten, JAMES BLAKE is also back again with a new record placing at number two this week. Friends That Break Your Heart is the UK based producer/crooner’s 5th full-length. On the latest record Blake is assuming a slightly more traditional form than his more avant earlier records, focusing a touch more on his song-craft. Give a listen!

Along with Blake another one of last Friday’s new-releases had a noteworthy week of sales. Talk Memory from BADBADNOTGOOD managed a solid number five placement in our charts. The Canadian band have made an unlikely career of melding modern hip-hop/electronic production styles with heavy jazz influences, and on their latest their dipping just a bit deeper into that jazz/groove side of their split personality with golden results. Makes for another killer record from these guys.
