Charts Recap: June 3rd - 9th, 2019

It’s a new week with new top-tens! There may be a lot of familiar record covers shuffled up in our charts this week but we’ve got a brand new number one for both. The monumental Neil Young Archives project continues with this 1973 live set with The Stray Gators, Tuscaloosa Live. This is hot on the heels of the release of Harvest, the record over which the Stray Gators came together as Neil’s backing band of chance. But as you’ll hear on this record this was a group with real chops and chemistry. One of the most necessary live recordings to emerge from this project.

Most the rest of our vinyl charts this week we’ve highlighted previously, but we’ve got a new chart crasher in the CD charts this week with Lizzo with her third album Cuz I Love You. If you aren’t yet familiar, Lizzo deals in soul tinged rap music full of positivity and empowerment. Recommended summer listening. Not quite out yet on vinyl, stay tuned.
