Charts Recap: March 18th - 24th, 2019

Another Monday means another set of top-tens tabulated at Sonic Boom! The dynamic duo of Karen O and Danger Mouse are fending off a slew of hot new releases for number one on the vinyl chart for the second straight week and the late great Tom Petty’s newest anthology is our top CD!

New releases from Andrew Bird and Jenny Lewis are in the charts expectedly, but what else is happening? Well the deluxe reissue of Iron & Wine’s masterpiece Our Endless Numbered Days has arrived. It was a record that really helped kick off an era and sound. This new package has a few new versions and tracks for the obsessive.

Northwestern rooted psych-rock torch bearers The Night Beats have another record on the shelves. Myth Of A Man doesn’t disappoint with the band's vintage influences further sharpened, if anything there might be a touch more twang on the newest disc. Number three in the CD charts this week!

Also we have the Sonic Boom chart debut of one of our very favorites from 2018! Better late than never, The Sons Of Kemet’s Your Queen Is A Reptile finally cracked the top-ten. Real 21st century jazz exploration here. Maybe our staff-pick of Shabaka Hutchings’s othe band, The Comet Is Coming, put this on some wantlists.
