Staff Picks: Acid King - Busse Woods

For fans of: Riffs and weed.

What they're saying: Released to minimal fanfare in 1999, but real heads know. The Obelisk blog introduces the record as an “all-time stoner metal classic" in an interview with the group about Busse Woods. You’ll find nothing but praise in the Metal Archives too.

What we say: This is kind of a low-key classic. Listeners who’ve worn out their Sleep and Electric Wizard LPs should take advantage of this being back in-print for some fresh top level sounds in that vein. Seriously high potency stuff with female lead vocals to spice the mix.

Further Listening: Other such pleasures can be dug out of the catalog of the defunct Man’s Ruin label discography for those willing to do the work.
